Our Commitment to Privacy

At Battlestation, we believe your family's data is yours and yours alone. We built this app as parents ourselves, and we treat your data with the same care we'd want for our own family's information.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password (which is encrypted and never stored in plain text).
Family Data: Grocery lists, chores, goals, calendar events, and family member profiles you create in the app.
Payment Information: If you subscribe to Premium, payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card number.

Information Collected Automatically

Usage Data: Basic analytics like which features you use most, to help us improve the app. This is aggregated and anonymized.
Device Information: Device type and operating system version for compatibility and troubleshooting.

How We Use Your Information

To provide and maintain the Battlestation service
To sync your data across your devices
To send important notifications (like security alerts)
To improve the app based on usage patterns
To provide customer support when you need help

What We Never Do

Sell your data: We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
Show you ads: Battlestation is and always will be ad-free.
Share with data brokers: Your grocery lists and family information stay private.
Use third-party trackers: No Facebook pixels, no Google Analytics, no tracking cookies.

Data Security

We take the security of your data seriously:

All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3
Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256 encryption
Passwords are hashed using bcrypt
Regular security audits and penetration testing
SOC 2 Type II compliant infrastructure

Third-Party Services

Grocery Store Integration (Premium)

If you choose to connect your grocery store account, we access your cart to enable one-tap purchasing. We do not store your store credentials — authentication is handled directly by the store.

Google Calendar Integration

If you connect Google Calendar, we access only the calendars you explicitly authorize. We sync event data to display in Battlestation but do not store copies of your Google data on our servers.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as you have an active account. If you delete your account, we delete all associated data within 30 days. Backup copies may persist for up to 90 days for disaster recovery purposes.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access all data we have about you
Export your data in a standard format
Request correction of inaccurate data
Delete your account and all associated data
Opt out of non-essential communications

Children's Privacy

Battlestation is designed for families, including children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. Children's profiles are managed by parent accounts, and we do not use children's data for any purpose other than providing the service.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes via email and in-app notification. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
