Privacy

This site collects two things: an email address, if you ask for early access, and an anonymous record of how far down the page people get. No cookies, no advertising trackers, and nothing shared with anyone else.

Who is responsible

Inochi is the data controller for everything described here. To ask a question, or to exercise any of the rights below, email privacy@inochi.family.

If you join the early-access list

We store the email address you type, the time you submitted it, which button you used, and roughly how far through the page you had read when you clicked. That last part is how we learn which parts of the page are doing the work.

The legal basis is your consent, given by submitting the form. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us, and we will delete the record — not merely stop sending. We use the address for one thing: to tell you when Inochi is ready. It is never sold, rented, or shared.

If you just read the page

We record how far through the story you scrolled, how long you were on the page, whether you opened the signup form, and the ref tag from the link you arrived by, if there was one. We keep no name, no email, and nothing that identifies you.

To join up the two or three measurements a single visit sends, each page load is given a random number. It is held in the page's memory and nowhere else — not in a cookie, not in local storage, not anywhere on your device. It is gone when you close the tab, and reloading the page makes you a new visitor as far as we are concerned. This is why the site has no cookie banner: there is nothing stored on your device to ask you about.

That random number is never attached to a signup. The anonymous records and the early-access list are kept apart on purpose, and nothing links a row in one to a row in the other.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding whether the page explains the product. If you would rather not be counted, see below — and note that we act on the browser signal automatically, so for most people there is nothing to send.

How to opt out

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we collect nothing at all — no request is made. Some browsers and extensions send one by default. You can also email us and we will tell you how to be excluded.

What we cannot avoid seeing

Our database is hosted by Supabase, and its servers log the IP address of every request that reaches them, including ours. An IP address counts as personal data. We do not use those logs, and they are not part of the data described above, but it would be misleading to claim the site is anonymous without saying so.

The site itself is served by Vercel, which keeps its own request logs on the same basis.

How long we keep it

• Anonymous page records — we clear these out periodically, and aim to keep nothing older than 90 days.
• Early-access emails — until Inochi launches and we have contacted you, or until you ask us to delete yours, whichever comes first.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or the EU you have the right to access a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office.

In practice, for this site, almost every request comes down to "delete my email address", and one message to privacy@inochi.family does it. We cannot retrieve or delete an individual anonymous record, because by design we have no way to tell which one is yours.

Children

Inochi is a product for running a household, and the early-access list is meant for the adults who would set it up. We do not knowingly collect an email address from a child.

Changes

If this notice changes in a way that affects what we collect, the date at the top changes with it.
